Clinical Associate, Social Worker

At Clinic Altera, we are proud to introduce Misanka S. Mupesse, a compassionate and highly skilled social worker offering psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families in Montréal, as well as virtual therapy throughout Québec and Ontario.

Misanka is a registered member of the OTSTCFQ and practices psychotherapy under the supervision of Amanda Hankins. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed, relational, feminist, and psychodynamic approaches that help clients better understand patterns, emotions, relationships, and healing through a deeper lens.

Misanka has a strong background supporting survivors of sexual violence, trauma, and PTSD. She creates a warm, respectful, and empowering therapeutic space where clients can process difficult experiences safely and at their own pace. She is also queer-affirming, BIPOC-friendly, and committed to culturally responsive care.

Misanka is trained in Brainspotting, a powerful trauma therapy approach that helps access and process unresolved trauma stored in the nervous system. Brainspotting can be especially helpful for PTSD, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, performance blocks, and experiences that feel hard to reach through talk therapy alone. By using eye position and attunement, Brainspotting supports the brain and body’s natural capacity to heal.

She also integrates somatic therapy techniques, helping clients notice how stress and trauma live in the body while building regulation, safety, and resilience. Her IFS-informed lens can support clients in understanding different “parts” of themselves with compassion rather than judgment.

Misanka works with adults, teens, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, identity concerns, relationship stress, attachment wounds, life transitions, and emotional burnout.

If you are looking for therapy in Montréal or virtual psychotherapy across Québec and Ontario, Misanka offers thoughtful, skilled support in both French and English.
