Amanda Hankins, MSW, Psychotherapist and Clinical Director and Founder of Clinic Altera

Drawing on many years of varied experience supporting high performers in medicine, mental health, politics, business, and academia, including my time at Harvard University, MIT, and McGill, I bring a unique blend of clinical depth and leadership insight to every session. Earlier in my career, I served as a leadership educator and university professor, an experience that shaped my understanding of how self-awareness and relational safety can transform leadership from the inside out.

This is not traditional performance coaching. It is a reflective and experiential process that helps you lead from a place of regulation, authenticity, and grounded confidence. Through a trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and psychodynamic lens, we explore how your nervous system, relationships, and leadership patterns intersect so you can create impact that is both effective and sustainable.

I developed the Relational Leadership and Executive Coaching process for people who carry a lot; emotionally, mentally, and relationally. This approach is for those who are both driven and deeply attuned, who care about their impact but sometimes find themselves overextended, disconnected, or unsure how to sustain the weight of it all.

Whether you lead a clinic, manage a team, run a business, or hold space for others in helping roles, this work is designed to help you reconnect with your core self as a foundation for how you lead. It is about growing your capacity for clarity, steadiness, and connection, so that leadership feels less like performance and more like presence.

A Process Informed by Depth and Experience

Drawing on over fifteen years of experience supporting high performers I bring both clinical depth and leadership insight to this process. Earlier in my career, I served as a leadership educator and university professor, an experience that shaped my understanding of how authentic leadership is built through emotional safety, self-awareness, and relationships but also the theory and science behind it.

Over time, I began to see the same challenges repeating across professions: leaders who were brilliant and compassionate, yet stretched thin; clinicians and entrepreneurs who could hold so much for others but rarely had space held for them. From that awareness, Relational Leadership Coaching was born; a space to integrate the personal and professional, the internal and external, the individual and systemic.

This is not a formulaic program or a series of productivity hacks. It is a reflective, experiential process that brings psychology, nervous system awareness, and leadership science together.

We explore how your attachment patterns, nervous system, and leadership style interact to shape your relationships, communication, and resilience. Through this exploration, you’ll learn to recognize when your system is in stress, how to repair disconnection, and how to bring more steadiness into moments that matter most, the conversations, decisions, and transitions that define your leadership.

In our work together, we don’t just talk about your performance. We explore your passion and purpose, your mindset and relational triggers, your routines and habits, and your capacity for impact and desire. It’s full-spectrum leadership growth, rooted in psychology, embodied awareness, and relational intelligence.

The Relational Leadership Immersion

A 3–6 Month High-Touch Coaching Experience with Amanda

The Relational Leadership Immersion is an intimate, high-support container for professionals who want to lead and live differently. Over 3 or 6 months, we work closely together to help you reconnect to regulation, purpose, and relational strength, so that you can sustain both your impact and your well-being.

This process is for high performers who are ready to move beyond intellectual insight into embodied leadership — leaders, clinicians, and entrepreneurs who want to deepen self-awareness, repair burnout patterns, and lead from grounded confidence and authenticity.

What the Container Includes

  • Weekly 90-minute one-on-one sessions (in person or virtual)
    Each session integrates coaching, therapeutic insight, and experiential modalities to deepen reflection and transformation.

  • Unlimited support between sessions
    You’ll have access to ongoing check-ins, reflections, and messaging support to help you stay connected, regulated, and resourced as you integrate changes in real time.

  • Goal mapping and relational vision planning
    Together, we clarify your values, define your leadership goals, and map out a sustainable path that supports growth in both work and life. What are your blocks? What are your strengths? How is your mindset? Where do you live on the futility—-> impact spectrum?

  • Personalized resources and development tools
    You’ll receive tailored reading lists, reflection prompts, nervous system regulation strategies, and leadership frameworks designed specifically for your context and personality.

  • Integrative methods and modalities
    Drawing from both psychotherapy and leadership science, we weave together:

    • Brainspotting and bilateral stimulation to process emotional blocks and enhance clarity

    • Safe and Sound Protocol to support nervous system regulation and resilience

    • Attachment and personality assessments to strengthen insight and communication

    • Psychodynamic and trauma-informed coaching frameworks to explore how early patterns shape current leadership and relational habits
