Affordable Therapy Support in Montréal, Québec & Ontario

Under the direct supervision of Amanda Hankins, MSW, T.S., Bhavani Britt McDougall is joining Clinique Altera as a clinician offering therapy to adolescents and adults navigating trauma, toxic stress, attachment wounds, life transitions, identity exploration, and recurring relational patterns.

Bhavani offers a warm, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic space where insight, curiosity, and self-understanding are encouraged. Her approach is relational, body-aware, and trauma-informed, honouring the whole person and their embeddedness within relationships, culture, family systems, and community. She is particularly interested in supporting individuals seeking to better understand longstanding patterns, strengthen their connection to themselves, and create meaningful change aligned with their unique values and goals.

In therapy, Bhavani may invite clients to slow down and explore patterns as they emerge, notice what is happening in the body, track emotions in real time, and develop new ways of relating to themselves and others. Her work is grounded in Gestalt, humanistic, and systems-based approaches and is informed by extensive training in nervous system attunement, trauma integration, and relational healing.

Several years of meaningful cross-cultural experiences continue to shape Bhavani’s understanding of identity, belonging, resilience, and healing. She brings a deep appreciation for the ways individual, familial, cultural, and collective experiences influence psychological well-being. If meaningful to the client, there is also space within her work to explore existential, spiritual, religious, and values-based dimensions of healing and personal growth.

Bhavani is committed to creating an affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive therapeutic environment where clients feel welcomed exactly as they are. She approaches therapy with empathy, openness, and genuine curiosity, believing that healing occurs through compassionate understanding, authentic connection, and the development of greater self-awareness.

As a clinician at Clinique Altera, Bhavani works within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment and receives ongoing clinical support and consultation from Amanda Hankins, Founder and Clinical Director. Clients benefit from both Bhavani’s thoughtful and attentive care and the added guidance and clinical insight available through Clinique Altera’s supportive team-based model.

Bhavani offers therapy in-person in Montréal and virtually across Québec. Her fees are offered on a sliding scale, starting at $100 per 50-minute session, making high-quality, trauma-informed care more accessible to individuals seeking support.

Recognizing the need for support is wisdom in itself. Bhavani warmly welcomes clients to book a consultation to explore whether they may be a good therapeutic fit.
