Clinical Associate, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Naika Gilbert is a trauma-informed therapist who works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, and major life transitions. She has particular experience supporting individuals impacted by intimate partner violence, adjustment and integration challenges, and complex emotional or relational concerns.

Naika holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health from TÉLUQ University and has completed psychotherapy studies at Hearst University. Her clinical work is integrative and collaborative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic approaches, and trauma-informed care.

She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a trauma-focused approach that can help clients process distressing experiences and reduce their emotional impact. Naika adapts her work to each person’s needs, goals, readiness, and pace, recognizing that there is no single way to move through healing.

At the centre of Naika’s approach is the therapeutic relationship. She creates a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, experiences, and relational patterns with greater curiosity and safety. Her work considers how past experiences, beliefs, and relationships may continue to shape the way a person understands themselves, responds to stress, and connects with others in the present.

Naika views therapy as a collaborative process. She believes clients bring important knowledge, strengths, and lived experience into the room, and she works alongside them to better understand their reactions, identify their needs, build greater self-compassion, and develop new ways of relating to themselves and the people around them.
