Vanessa is a Clinical Intern at Clinique Altera and is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She offers psychotherapy in both English and French.
Vanessa brings a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental presence to therapy and aims to create a space where clients can feel heard, respected, and supported as they explore what is happening in their lives. She approaches therapy collaboratively, with attention to each client’s individual experiences, strengths, needs, and goals.
Her clinical interests include addiction and substance use, trauma and trauma-related concerns, anxiety, stress, and emotional regulation. She welcomes adolescents, young adults, and adults from diverse backgrounds who may be navigating difficult emotions, life transitions, patterns that feel hard to change, or a desire to better understand themselves.
Her developing therapeutic approach is integrative and evidence-informed, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Vanessa adapts these approaches to the person in front of her, balancing practical tools and coping strategies with space for reflection, self-understanding, and meaningful change.
Outside of her clinical work, Vanessa has a background in dance and enjoys staying active and creative. Her connection to movement has shaped her appreciation for the relationship between emotional wellbeing, self-expression, connection, and the body.
