Internship Opportunities at Clinic Altera
At Clinic Altera, we believe in cultivating the next generation of compassionate, skilled, and reflective mental health professionals. Our clinic is not only a space for client care but also a learning and teaching environment where interns can gain high-quality clinical training, supervision, and professional mentorship.
We are committed to offering inclusive, trauma-informed, and relational training opportunities that prepare future clinicians to thrive in the diverse realities of mental health practice in Quebec, Ontario and beyond.
Psychotherapy Internships (OPQ Psychotherapy Permit)
As a recognized supervisor with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ), Amanda Hankins, MSW, T.S (Clinical Director) offers psychotherapy internships for professionals working toward the psychotherapy permit.
Interns may complete the required 600 hours of supervised practice under our qualified supervision, in alignment with OPQ standards.
Training is rooted in psychodynamic, relational, somatic, and trauma-informed approaches.
Interns benefit from both 1:1 and group supervision, reflective practice, and access to continuing education activities.
Interns gain exposure to diverse clinical presentations, including trauma, perinatal mental health, ADHD and neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ related issues, marriage and family therapy, and relational difficulties.

Supervision includes case consultation, reflective dialogue, review of session material, and integration of evidence-informed interventions.
