    Approach
Amanda’s work is rooted in connection, compassion, and collaboration. She integrates psychodynamic, relational, somatic, and evidence-based approaches to help clients explore patterns, build resilience, and create meaningful change.

With over 13 years of clinical experience, Amanda specializes in supporting high performers (including medical professionals, athletes, academics, and executives), other mental health clinicians, couples, and families as they navigate burnout, anxiety, and relationship challenges. She also has extensive experience working with survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence, offering a trauma-informed approach that centers safety, empowerment, and integration.

Amanda is committed to providing accessible, inclusive, and affirming care. Her practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, neurodivergent aware, sex-positive, and ENM/polyamory friendly, with a focus on decolonizing therapy and honouring diverse lived experiences. She works relationally, meeting clients where they are and creating space for voices and identities that have historically been marginalized.

Fun Fact: I’m a glitter-mom at heart — always knee-deep in gardening dirt, paint splatters, flour dust, or a half-finished dance routine. Between cooking experiments, design projects, fashion play, and crafting with my kids, I’m basically a professional mess-maker (and proud of it).

    Approach

I became a counselor because I personally know what it’s like to struggle with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Living through those experiences gave me a deep understanding of what it feels like to lose control of thoughts and behaviors, and to search for a way forward. Over the past 13 years, I’ve been committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel understood and supported in their mental health journey.

My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, and psychoeducation. This integration allows me to tailor care to each person’s needs—balancing structure with compassion and encouragement.

Fun fact: I like to describe my counseling style as a blend of Judge Judy and Dr. Phil—direct and honest, but always paired with compassion, understanding, and a touch of humor.
